About Red Barn Designs
Red Barn Designs is a Sole Proprietorship.
-
Sole - being the only one, of or relating to
only one individual.
-
Proprietorship - an unincorporated business
owned by a single person who is responsible for its liabilities
and entitled to its profits.
So, in other words, no big corporation here!
Even though a sole proprietorship can have any number of employees
(it really only means one owner), at the present time there's only
one person behind the scenes at Red Barn Designs and that's me,
Ann Zuhn.
Being the only one has it's advantages and it's
disadvantages and before you consider being a customer/client of
Red
Barn Designs you really need to be aware of them so that we can
avoid any misunderstandings in the future.
-
I am an
experienced website designer with over 10 years of experience in
HTML and website design.
-
You only have to
deal with one person, less chance of miscommunication or
misunderstandings.
-
I have complete
control and decision-making power over my business. I
don't have to "ask my boss" and I can't "pass-the-buck".
It all starts and ends with me.
-
I won't try and
sell you something you don't need. I will tell you, in
plain English, what I recommend for you in terms of a website
based on my experience as a website designer.
-
I will take the
time to explain to you what you want explained. I
understand that the average Internet user is not familiar with
website technology.
There's only 1 disadvantage that I can think of,
but it is a significant one and one you need to be aware of:
-
Red Barn Designs is not a full time
job for me. Most of the time I am not available during
normal business hours, except by email.
Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm I am the
Administrative Office and Quality Assurance Manager for Texas
Tank Car Works of La Grange, Inc., a certified railcar
inspection and repair facility.
The best way to reach me is by email. I will respond as
soon as possible, however, it may be after 5:00 pm before I can
get back to you.
More About Me:
I love to design websites. I do it because
I enjoy it. I have been working with HTML and designing
websites since 1997. When I first got on the Internet I was using
Windows 3.1 and Internet Explorer 3.0! Wow, that was a long time
ago! A lot has changed since then.
I designed my first website using Microsoft Word
97. When I outgrew that, I switched to Microsoft FrontPage98,
then upgraded to FrontPage 2000 and then upgraded to FrontPage 2003.
I have also used Dreamweaver by Macromedia (Now a product of Adobe).
Sadly, after nine years of being an award-winning Web authoring
tool, Microsoft discontinued FrontPage in 2006 and have come out
with two brand-new application building and Web authoring tools
using the latest technologies:
Office SharePoint Designer 2007 for
enterprise information workers and
Expression Web for
the professional Web designer. I am looking forward to trying
it!
So, why "Red Barn Designs"?
Well, the "Designs" part is rather obvious I
should think, since I design websites and "Red Barn" is because I
have always loved red barns!
Red Barns are so cool! Especially the really old
ones! My family is from Minnesota, which in addition to it being
the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" it is probably also the land of 10,000
red barns! I don't get to see very many old red barns here in
Texas, but whenever we go somewhere I am always on the look out!
I am also very patriotic, so I really love my
website's red, white and blue patriotic theme. God Bless
America!
Thanks for your interest in Red Barn Designs!
Let me know if there is anything I can do for
you!
